5.30.12 - On the move ~ John is walking!

John has been taking steps for quite a while, but with the help of friends, he took off this week!

Banning helping John walk last week.

Jade walked with John all afternoon on Sunday!

All of the help and practice paid off...

...by Monday he was walking on his own!

5.28.12 - Weeks 7 and 8

186.
Down one pound in the last two weeks.
Humm...
perhaps I have been cheating a little....
 Why do I cheat myself??
Oh, food.

Next week my schedule will lighten up quite a bit, so it'll be time to start exercising.

5.26.12 - Homeschool orchestra picnic

We had a picnic Friday to celebrate the end of the year with the homeschool orchestra.
It was so incredibly hot that we ate, played on the swings for 5 minutes, and left.

I saw a picture of a watermelon shark on my friend Tammy's facebook wall, and thought it would be a ton of fun to do!

Sweet Sarah helping me out by pushing John in the swing.

All of the big kid swings were taken.

Totally exhausted from the heat.

It was so stinkin cute watching the little kids go through their routines.

This little boy will start gymnastics soon!

Look at that adorable face!

Waiting to begin.

5.18.12 - Yes, straw success!

Oh yeah, John started drinking from a straw today!
Seriously, this made my day.
Do you know how much easier this will be?
And - he drank a good 4 oz at dinner.
This is a huge success.
Yay!

His reaction when I had to go refill the cup.
John has been working on walking for quite a while. His favorite thing to do now is push and slide things around so he can walk.
Today he was pushing a children's chair around and pulled it down on himself and got a little cut and a swollen eye.
What a boy. :P

Still handsome!

Tonight I made dinner for a friend that just had a baby.
I was on a tight schedule to get to her on time.
Isabelle did a wonderful job entertaining John so I could cook.
They played a bit of "cooking music" for me while I worked.

I love how young minds think.
Isabelle was working on her math yesterday, and she was supposed to circle the correct number of blocks. I asked her if there were 7 or 8.
She replied "both".
So true!

Tonight she was working on a connect the dots picture using letters.
She drew from A to G and stopped.
"Nothing is next."
We have been talking about the musical alphabet, which stops at G.
Ha!
